One of Romania’s most reputed actresses, Stela Popescu has played in more than 30 movies plus dozens of theatre productions.
Born in 1935 in Orhei, Basarabia, she had to move with her family in Romania during WW2.
With some interruptions, she’s working for Constantin Tanase Theatre since 1963. Also, Stela has collaborated with The Comedy Theatre and has over 30 radiofonic plays for the Romanian Broadcasting Radio.
She made famous couples alongside two other well known Romanian actors Stefan Bănică and Alexandru Arşinel.
In 2015, Stela Popescu was honored by the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis with the highest national order “The Romanian Star”.
