Marco led the development of several products and technologies in the fields of precision agriculture, environmental monitoring & risk mitigation focusing in Big Data, predictive analytics, IT security, sensors, Internet of Things (IoT). He co-founded 3 companies, 2 of them operating in his latest passion: the IoT, which Marco approached since 2003.
Marco pioneered digital technologies, was mentioned in Forbes in 2008 and selected as the most promising start-up at Stanford University winning the “Best Startup Award” in 2011. The European Enterprise Network elected him among the three most important European innovations. He was invited to present at the Royal Chemical Society and selected as a finalist at IBM Smarter Planet and in 2011 (IBM Global Entrepreneur).
Scientific publications with UNESCO, WSL, Università di Trento complement his business activities that have also been reported in a full interview in the book “Organizing Entrepreneurship” published by Routledge.
With a 20Y+ ICT experience, a Math degree (cryptography) and an MBA, from 2008, Marco leveraged IoT technology developing a market-proven solution in forest fires prediction, pest presence prediction, natural hazards early warning and pollution monitoring.
Since 2013 he focuses on software Decision Support System for agriculture using predictive analytics to optimize water consumption, reduce pesticides and chemicals in farming.
The same year, EnvEve was selected by 2 large international corporations to lead a disruptive technology development to foster sustainable intensification of cropping systems under the agronomic lead of Agrocope (the Swiss federal center of excellence for agronomic research) implementing advanced predictive analytics and integrating Artificial Intelligence.
Up to date, selected customers are already finding benefit in implementing this lead innovation enabling agronomic efficiency making use of the most innovative technologies.
